Information
Laura works primarily as an Associate Teacher in the UAB as well as collaborating with other universities such as UNED, UOC and UB. She’s a speaking examiner for Cambridge exams and works on testing and assessment projects with CRELLA (University of Bedfordshire). She has a Masters in ELT from the University of Southampton, which focused on the use of new technologies in education.

Blanca is currently a PhD student at the UOC. She is carrying out her research on e-tandem language learning under the supervision of Christine Appel. She graduated in Journalism from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and has a Master’s Degree in Teaching Spanish and Catalan as Foreign Languages from the Universitat de Girona (UdG). She is a DELE examiner at the Instituto Cervantes, and previously worked as a Spanish teacher in higher education and professional training institutions. She also did a training period in the Spanish Language Department of the University of Florence (Italy).

Christine is a Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Modern Languages at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) in Barcelona, Spain. She is also the coordinator of European projects, amongst them, LLP project SpeakApps. She coordinates EFL and teacher training courses in the Centre for Modern Languages at the UOC. She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Dublin, Trinity College. Her current research interests include Computer-mediated Communication, Distance education, Task-based Learning, and Computer-supported collaborative learning in the L2. She is a member of realTIC (2014 SGR 1003), an AGAUR funded research group.

Joseph has over 30 years of experience as a language teacher and teacher trainer and is currently the Director of the Centre for Modern Languages at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). He is also a coordinator of ICT-REV, a project funded by the European Centre for Modern Languages aimed at training language teachers in how to successfully implement technology in their teaching. His main areas of interest are web-based language teaching and learning, language teaching management, ICT training for language teachers, and computer-mediated communication.

Joan Tomàs is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Language Teaching at the Faculty of Education, University of Barcelona (UB). He is director of the Máster Interuniversitario de Formación de Profesores de Español como Lengua Extranjera (UB and Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and UB coordinator of the Máster MULTIELE – Erasmus Mundus. He holds a PHD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh. His research interests focus on Computer Assisted Language Learning, Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, Language Learning Autonomy and Language Teacher Education. He is the Principal Investigator of realTIC (2014 SGR 1003) and the Director of a three-year research project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, EDU2012-38049.
